FAQ

*When are you open?

We are now open Wednesday through Saturday. Wednesday and Thursday we are open 10 am-2 pm. Friday and Saturday we are open 10 am to 3 pm. We are open the first Friday each month from 5-8 pm, with special themed activities.

*What ages is it geared toward?

The exhibits are geared for children ages 18 months to 11 years old, but we try to keep it fun and entertaining for older siblings (and grownups) as well.

*What is the price of admission?

$7 per person for everyone over 12 months old. Members receive free admission all year long, in addition to other perks.

*Is financial assistance available?

We participate in the nationwide Museums 4 All program to offer discounted admission at $2 per person for anyone with a MI Bridge or EBT card. Please let us know when you are checking in and we will provide the discounted price for you.

*Is the museum fully ADA accessible?

Unfortunately, only the first floor (out of 2.5) is fully accessible. For those who cannot visit our upper levels, we will be happy to provide you with complimentary passes to visit our Fennville facilities at a later date. We also have fun, interactive kits based off the upper level activities that will be available on the main floor upon request. Please see the Accessibility section below for more details.

*How much is a family membership?

A year-long family membership for up to 2 adults and 4 children in a single household is $95. You can add on grandparents/caregivers for $20 or additional children in the household for $10 per child. We offer a discounted Museums for All membership price of $45 for those who have a Birdge card or.

*Can I get in for free if I already have a membership to Forever Curious?

You can upgrade your membership to a dual membership for a discounted price if you have at least 6 months left before the expiration date. A dual membership to both locations is $145.

*How can I help?

We can always use volunteers in so many areas, from serving as play guides during open hours to helping with programming, field trips, fundraising, exhibit maintenance, grants and more. Please inquire at wendi@forevercuriousmuseum.org if you would like to help! We also are always appreciative of donations and sponsorships of any size.

*Where should I park?

There is limited parking at The Mitten (three spaces in front, four in the back). There is on-street parking and two city lots just around the corner on Quaker. Please do not park in the State Farm or Social House lots.

*Is it stroller-friendly?

We do not have space to accommodate strollers inside the museum. There will be stroller parking inside the front door or just outside.

*Can I bring snacks to eat?

We do not have the space for food to be eaten at the museum during regular hours. Please plan on snacking before or after your visit!

*Are birthday party rentals available?

Yes! We would love to host your child's birthday party at the museum. Private parties start at $300 for two hours.

*Do you allow field trips?

Yes! We would love to host your class or group for open-ended play at the museum. Group rates are $5 per person, with teachers and chaperones (1 grownup for every 4 kids) free. If your group has accessibility concerns or considerations, please give us a call and we can assist you with choosing the best location for your needs!

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION

We strive to be as inclusive as possible as part of our mission to bring hands-on learning fun to children of all ages and abilities (and their families). While our current, temporary location in a historic South Haven home is not set up to be full ADA accessible, we are working on a plan that would allow every family to enjoy our offerings:

* We will provide families who are unable to access the upper levels with free passes to our ADA-compliant facility in Fennville (gas cards to offset transportation costs will be available for those in need).

* We will create kits to be available soon that replicate the activities upstairs and provide a similar experience so that no one misses out on the educational fun. We do encourage all parties to explore, stay together and enjoy the same experience during their visit.

* We are working on plans to update our downstairs bathroom to better accommodate wheelchairs.

* We are working on finding a permanent location that would incorporate universal design elements for everyone to enjoy.

*An access ramp is available at the front door. It has a railing on one side but needs another to enclose it, which we are working on.

Please feel free to call us at 269-767-7521 with any questions ahead of your visit. We are most happy to help and hope to see you soon at The Mitten!
